Why galvanise rather than just paint?

Because a Karen external stair or balcony takes weather from every direction. Painted mild steel rusts at the welds and cut ends within about two rainy seasons and bleeds down the wall. Galvanising bonds zinc to the steel so it stays protected even where the finish is scratched.

We size the post and the foundation for the leaf, or we recommend an open bar or mesh infill that lets the wind through. Both are legitimate; guessing is not.
